Education

At Liverpool John Lennon Airport, we are committed to making education an exciting and inspiring experience for everyone- regardless of age or ability.

We recognise that LJLA is one of the leading employers in our region and as such, we aim to work closely within our community to provide insightful, sustainable and beneficial support to those in education or considering their first steps into the working world.

We currently run a number of programmes aimed at helping young people establish skills and experience that will aid them in their working lives including full-time-work placements through our Internships, Traineeships and Apprenticeships schemes.

Colleagues at LJLA have previously partnered with a school local to the Airport- The Academy of St. Nicholas (previously Enterprise South Liverpool Academy/ESLA) and since 2016, Airport colleagues have dedicated over 300 hours to the students of the school acting as mentors and reading buddies. In addition, we worked closely alongside the Academy's Sixth Form students to help them refine their CV's and interview skills through CV workshops and mock Assessment Centres.

We currently work alongside our Community partners to provide:

In addition, we have also taken part in Liverpool John Moores University's 'World of Work' scheme. The Airport were involved in holding mock Interviews as part of the student's career development.

Local Schools

Liverpool John Lennon Airport has previously partnered with schools such as The Academy of St. Nicholas (previously known as Enterprise South Liverpool Academy/ESLA) between 2014 -2018 providing students with support and resources to aid their learning and development. Students are prospective employees of the future and we want to help encourage them to be better prepared for the workplace whether that’s at the Airport or elsewhere. As well as this, we have held multiple career events for schools such as Hugh Baird College, Liverpool and Halewood Academy, The Heath School, Runcorn and The UK Apprenticeship Hub.

LJMU

Working closely with Liverpool John Moore’s University (LJMU), Liverpool Airport provides career advice to undergraduate students who are in their final year of their degree programme. We also offer a range of Internship roles, many of which have and currently are held by LJMU students.
